Water cooling question

Postby jaustin89 » Fri Mar 25, 2016 10:06 pm

I've been running a water cooling rig for ~8-10 month and have started noticing some white particulate in the reservoir the last couple times I topped it off. I've never had a water loop before and wanted to see if anyone with more experience might have any ideas as to what this might be and if it's harmful to the system? Post with parts used in loop; I would think since i got everything from the same company that there shouldn't be any corrosion issues but I can't find out the material used in the waterblock that's built into my graphics card so I can't rule it out.

The particles don't really show up when I take a picture of the reservoir but I'd estimate them at ~.1-.5mm in size and white or off white in color.

IT happens. I tend to change my fluid every year or so. Tubing will express some of the chemicals over time. It's mostly harmless but obviously you don't want it building up in large amounts in the fluid.

You can run some vinegar solution or more specifically whatever your brand suggests you use to clean the loop to help clean things up a bit.

In that case I'll probably wait a couple months till I have the money to go SLI since I'd have to drain the loop then anyway. Thanks for the help.
