Wanted to update you that we discovered a major culprit in our multiplayer matchmaking system: the party service module.
As a test, we're recommending that players avoid using the party system to join matches with friend for this weekend.
We've got a lot of investigation to do in order to fix this; it isn't work that will happen over the weekend. When the party service is overloaded, it doesn't speak to the other modules nor back to the client, and as the larger party service is a required component of keeping multiplayer online (currently all multiplayer traffic flows at some point through it), it's not a module that we can simply disable. It touches several different systems, all of which will also need to be investigated.
