Operation Solace

Postby Pathagarus » Wed Oct 14, 2015 1:35 pm

For those who aren't interested in Operation Pitchfork Comm-Link at the RSI web site has an article called Clean Shot: Vega Relief and mentions Operation Solace, a relief effort via the UEE Merchant Marine.

Seems like it's right up my alley. Pretty excited about that ... especially making money. Mmmm ... money.

I've got a feeling this is something for the lore only and we won't be able to actually participate.

Actually, I wonder. Could we get CIG to make Operation Solace a real thing? They could give out hangar flair items for $5, $10, $15 donations which are collected and donated to some international charity. Maybe Doctors Without Borders. (They occur to me just because they've been in the news recently because of the hospital bombed in Afghanistan.)

I guess I'm less cynical. I expected a better response than it's gotten. A lot of the people responding come across as really callous.

So as I can tell that went horribly. Might be possible to make our own Operation Solace. Say for instance we have an org based 24 hour SC stream on Twitch.tv or Youtube Gaming with a donation button to help raise awareness for Doctors Without Borders. During that time we could do a bunch of search and rescue missions.
