You can never go wrong with a Super Hornet. The mere presence will be enough to discourage the occasional passing by wanna be pirate. 8-)

Eris is right, of course. Not much is really known about the Cat. I have two of them and bought one at the very first reveal because I really liked the idea of the modularity (this was before modularity became a common thing in CIG thinking). But it is more of a armed transport then anything.

The Andromeda really takes it all. Fast, armed to the teeth with it all so should handle its self in any situ. Being a larger ship it can shield your ward.

But for pure offensive firepower (especially if you have a second player manning the ball turret) the Super Hornet is the ship of choice right now for escort.

I picked up the super hornet for now. It gives me time to think about it a little more with no pressure. If I decide to keep it, I will probably melt my Delta for something else.

You owe it to yourself to take the SH into a Swarm single player and see how far you can get.

I keep the stock weapons when I want a bit of a challenge. When I want to blow through them as quickly as possible I replace the Behrings for Omnisky 6s and replace the cannard turret mounted 107s repeaters with the 117s.

The SH is probably the most survivable ship in terms of damage potential versus fragility of the space craft.

That and it's just awesome to tear out an Alpha's, or elite's, shields quickly with the repeaters and then fire group 2 once (Omnisky's) and see an instant kill.

Or if you just want to see a hail of missiles lock every missile you can onto a single enemy and then fire them all. Sit back and watch the fire works. Actually I dont know that I've ever locked on more than 4 missiles at a time onto an Ace. Might give that a shot this weekend.

Orion's coming up soon (next Friday?).

Took the S-Hornet out for a test. Thought I'd changed the guns but they'd reset again. Didn't matter: Just the 007 and 117's linked and Scythes were disintegrating (when I hit them). The 4A's helped, too. Unfortunately, I'd forgotten where they'd moved the missile launch to so by wave 9... it got messy.

Got to go back in now I've popped the 227's on and shifted the 117's to replace the 007's... and added some ballistic goodness to the wing tips ;p

And Hell Cat wins! Hurray! I have been waiting for the Orion for a while, and have picked it up. Pretty excited about it. Sadly, I didn't have the money for it, so my merchantman went to the melter. Anybody else pick one up?
