Small Arms

Postby Stabby_McPunch » Sat Jan 17, 2015 9:35 am

So I know we all love ships, but some of us love guns too. I know I am really looking forward to stepping out of my ship and introducing to pirate jerk to my shotgun.

So for those of you out there looking forward to some fps, let me know what kind of a loadout you prefer to run with. I like shotguns. I like them in games, I like them in real life. I always prefer a sidearm with some power, 1911-style.

Of course I love all firearms, but when the boots hit the dirt you will probably see me getting close and fighting dirty.

I usually do my best work at long range, and I have a tendency towards weapons that are a bit over the top. So, I am usually the heavy weapons guy. I think rockets and heavy explosives probably won't be much use in shipboard combat, but if there's a heavy machine gun or (especially) some form of gatling laser, I will be a happy man. Barring that, I tend to favor rapid fire SMGs and rifles. I am occasionally good at sniping, it depends on the game mechanics. Not much of a shotgunner though. If someone gets in my face, a machine pistol (or two, if I can use them akimbo) is usually more my thing.

I guess overall, I typically follow the philosophy of "more is better, especially when the more is lead".

I'll be interested to see what other kinds of unusual weapons show up in the game. I have a feeling we'll see some very interesting and unusual things. I'm imagining a lightning gun (sort of like the one from The Matrix), for some reason.

Hmmm. I live in Canada and we don't really allow guns so I don't have any real experience with them. I did own a pellet gun and rife though (grew up on a farm of sorts). :o

I'm pretty much a pacifist but if mine is threatened run and hide. In games I don't really go for combat, but I will carry around 1 or 2 hand guns Laura Croft style. I'm more of a distance kind of player. Close in I'm dead fast. I have really good ballistics trajectory ranging abilities and can lob joy packages to instinctively. I look forward to see how a space turret will fare with my skills.

But really I'll have others fight for me when possible. Stick to my skills of being pretty.

In FPS games I like to play the support role, engineer or medic.
Primary weapons are usually assault rifles, but I do occasionally like to use a sniper too.
Side arms like pistols are pretty much useless for me as I never seem to hit anything with them and always to much in panic to pull them out/switch fast enough. I guess side arms for me need to look pretty

I usually stick to single shot rifles or burst fire, not a spray and pray guy.
I am rubbish with the mouse on frps games so I will stick to my controller (Xbox 360 Afterglow). I do prefer a machine pistol over a more traditional semi-automatic. Close range havoc creator.
If I can I will launch into battle with as many knives as I can, I go for the silent kill.

I tend to hover near the back covering others with a sniper rifle or I'm at medium range with an assault rifle set to three round burst to conserve ammo.

If I have to get up close and personal, I prefer to sneak in, take one person out, and sneak out again before anyone knows I'm there. Repeat until no one is left. (Yes I used to love Splinter Cell :D ) I can sit around for ages waiting for that right moment.

I'm not much of an FPS person, but I don't mind sniper rifles when I have to do shooting. I like something that takes a bit of finesse and stealth.

Where as I like them because it allows me to easily RASLAG if it hits the fan.

(RASLAG = Run away screaming like a girl...)

That is pretty much me as well. If you ever play games on voice me me I'm quite vocal. There is normally never any chance of you not knowing how I'm doing. Lol. I so look forward to coop play!

I tend to swear a lot. (Sh*t, oh crap, f*ck this! etc) So I hope no one is easily offended. :D
