Nothing is better than coming in on the starboard side of a pirate with the local star on your six so visuals in their cockpit is nill and then opening fire with all you have.

The slow, and stead dissipation of the shields, the initial scorch marks you paint just below the cockpit glass, and finally the explosive decompression that sucks that scum of the 'Verse pirate out into the cold dark emptiness.

If you're lucky you can hear the pirate slowing going insane on the local comms.

When you describe it like that...I feel like I need the Ghost Hornet so I can ambush pirates....

Maybe I'll just wait and see if I can fit the stealth armor onto my Super Hornet.

Maybe...

I like the idea of security work (convoy escort duty, protection for miners, for example), and (eventually, perhaps) inter-organizational conflict (war declarations). Meanwhile there will be plenty of other stuff to do, and I expect we'll all need to fatten the wallets first.

I don't like the idea of declaring war on another org. I really would rather the Enablers be neutral or friendly with everyone - even the griefers! We should lead by example, defend the defenseless, give aid to those in need, fight only when me must, insert more clichés here. If some other org declares war on us, then we should fight without remorse and meet force with overwhelming force showing no hesitation to destroy or neutralize the aggressors, but should also be gracious in victory and be willing to set aside animosity when we are done.

I follow what you're saying. FWIW, I was thinking more of mutual (i.e. agreed upon, consensual PVP) war decs, but I'm happy to roll with a less bellicose attitude.

I'm definitely in for the trading. i'd still like a little taste of the other things that SC will offer. I will reserve judgement until i've had a chance to experiment in game. I've kind of decided to aim my role play character in that direction. Since he is basically in it for making money, trading will be his main draw. However, exploring, hijacking, information gathering... even dog fighting would still be in his cards if he thinks he can make a profit...

I would be totally useless at security unless you needed a very large vessel but I would probably let somebody else In it. I will however have great need of escort & security for my mining & salvaging missions.

I also need to know if the security division also has the authority over the Queen's Royal guard. If I remember correctly, we had loosely decided on six Hornets all identically painted that would be owned by the organization and maintained by them. Lots to decide. For example, if your security members are on official duties who pays for their fuel, ammunition & repairs etc.
