Missiles? The obvious answer is help provide a distraction while somebody sneaks in and steals a Bengal carrier for the group.

Na, Bengal carrier would just get us on the bad side of the UEE, and since it appears our Org hangar will be in the middle of their space we should play nice.

Also we don't have enough people to man a 24/7 ship.

Missiles are always a good security measure.

Mutually Assured Destruction seems to be a good deterrent.

What happens when you're out of missiles though?

I keep seeing the Robotech space battles in my mind; Massive volleys of missiles and then... Then it's down to your skill and your enemies skill.

Or who has the fastest target acquisition algorithm.

I'm wondering if we could have a MIS or two running rear echelon in a convoy. If/When shit hits the fan they can deploy to aft and port outside the main convoy to provide bombardment while the raiders are at maximum range (Hopefully more than 1.5km). Once they're out of ordnance we could, maybe, bring up a Freelancer MAX with missiles reloads and cross load them via BB-12s. That way the smaller nimble fighters can keep the enemy engaged while the MIS' are gearing back up.

Provided we have enough screening fighters and enough MIS reloads I could see us taking out some fairly sizable opposition.

I really love the intellectual side of spacial engagement tactics. I've been thinking and dreaming up tactics and scenarios since I was 8.

Actually... Wouldn't it be awesome if we could plan engagements in Arena Commander?
AEGIS - Gladius, Retaliator, Vanguard
ANVIL - F7C-M Super Hornet, T3A Gladiator
C/O - Mustang Delta
DRAKE - Herald
MISC - Hull A, Hull B, Star G
ORIGIN - M50, 350R, 325A

Well... the MIS has reloading kit already installed and the idea would be to keep up a steady stream of missiles to drive the enemy mad with all the 'missile alert' warnings... enough, perhaps, that they turn off the warnings or run out of countermeasures at which point they're toast.

Either way, filling space with missiles... what could possibly go wrong?

@einnyen, keep up with your thoughts on the strategies, but until we have a specific ship in game to test it we could shot ourselves in the foot discussing and locking ourselves into a strategy.

@Hell Cat, if the Queen is in front of you when you fire your volley, you can definitely go wrong, because she will pull the Fleet over, or even turn us around to go home if she thinks we are acting up.

Consider this my sign up for security division. Just issue some orders and I'll carry them out. My specialty is scout/covert ops tho'.

Can I help secure the paste too? I will only take a little bit to test for quality assurance.
