Reaper

Postby Reaper » Thu Jan 30, 2014 1:11 pm

Hello all

Let me start by saying this is going to be my first space sim.
With that said i have played any flight sim you can think off since the beginning of flight sims with an emphasis on Combat i love the chaos of the furball :D .
My callsign Reaper refers to the next person you will meet if you choose to mix it up with me.

So S~ all

And i will see you in the verse.

I used to work with an ex-Navy pilot whose callsign was Reaper.

Space sims can be fun. You shoudl check out some of the older ones to pass the time. All the Wing Commanders are on gog.com and you can get Freelancer and Starlancer from Amazon.

I have seen you guys talking about them but i have to admit i am shallow when it comes to graphics and i find it hard to play older games because of this once i get used to a certain level of visual and i go back to an older game i can't enjoy it because of the visuals if that makes any sense.

Then maybe you'd like Diasopra. It's a free Battlestar Galactica game using the Freespace 2 engine

There is also Wing Commander Saga
http://www.wcsaga.com/

It is a free game using freespace as well. I haven't had a chance to play it myself, but I've heard good things.

I am very much the same. There are a few i can do, but it is very difficult for me as well.

I have a pretty high tolerance for old graphics, myself, but there are some games I just can't play any more. One of my favorite games of all time is Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar, but when I tried to play it again a few years ago I just couldn't do it because the graphics were too primitive even for me. Ultima VI if the easliest I can go in that series and still feel comfortable.
